Big Green Pizza Truck
Reunion classes ‘78, ‘83, '88, ‘93, ‘98, and ‘03 will have their reunion dinners on Friday night at the Town Pavilion. We have hired the famous Big Green Pizza Truck to provide scrumptious pizza and out-of-this-world gelato. It is a family friendly event located next to the fields at the Washington Primary School. Bring the family to this fun event, as there are lots of places for the kids to play!
Leadership: Two Perspectives
Saturday morning, a student panel will address the issue of how the students of today view their leadership development at The Gunnery. What are the opportunities? How supported do they feel? What role do they see their teachers playing in this all-important aspect of their education? Come hear a group of students tell you what is on their mind!
Following Up on the Student Panel Theme
Developing leadership in the students is a goal of all teachers and is clearly part of The Gunnery mission. Come hear faculty members, both past and current, talk about their experience over the years. Panel will include former faculty Ron Whittle, Bob Schroeder, John Ford, and Nancy Lemcke, along with current teachers, Pam Taylor, Ed Small, Willie Smith, and Dean of Students, Rob Reinhardt.
Wykeham Ladies
For the second year in a row, alumnae from Wykeham Rise will be joining us for Alumni Weekend festivities. The Gunnery is keeping the Wykeham Rise tradition alive and continues the sister school’s heritage of promoting fine arts and opportunities for young women. At least seven Wykeham Rise alumnae have children or children of extended family members currently attending The Gunnery. Please make the girls feel welcome on our campus.
Gunn Scholar
The 2007-2008 Gunn Scholar, Sara Silverman, will give a presentation on Mr. Gunn and the development of the camping movement. Mr. Gunn is credited with being the founder of outdoor recreational camping in the United States. He influenced numerous alumni who went off to create camp experiences of their own in the late 19th century. Come hear Sara talk about this unique aspect of The Gunnery.
The Challenge
The reunion classes of the 3’s and the 8’s challenge each other in a spirited game of softball on The Gunnery field after lunch on Saturday. Bring a glove and your running shoes. T-shirts will be provided for team members. Come root for your team!
Child Care
On Saturday, from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m., child care will be available for those wanting to go to the clambake on the Quad. Please be sure to let us know if you will need this service so we can plan ahead.
