At The Gunnery, our students learn the importance of citizenship and the value of community service. In the spirit of giving back to the communities we serve, The Gunnery offers two, $15,000 merit-based scholarships annually toward the total cost of tuition to children, grandchildren and relatives of Western Connecticut Health Network employees, and any physicians affiliated with Danbury, New Milford and Norwalk hospitals.
Students entering grades 9, 10 or 11 are eligible to apply. Families who wish to be considered for the scholarship should identify themselves to the Admissions Office at The Gunnery. Scholarships will be awarded at the discretion of the Admissions office and will be based on an interview, academic record, teacher recommendations, demonstrated achievement, involvement and/or interest in extracurricular activities such as athletics, visual and performing arts or community service. Strong consideration will be given to students who embody the school’s mission, which places an emphasis on what we believe to be the four cornerstones of character: scholarship, integrity, respect and responsibility.
Assuming the student remains in good standing and the relative remains employed by WCHN, the scholarship will be automatically renewed each year that the student is enrolled at The Gunnery.
While scholarship awards are based on merit, recipients are also welcome to apply for need-based financial aid.
