Exeter Invitational Prep Pot

The Highlanders traveled to Exeter Academy for two games over the course of the weekend. The first against Exeter on Saturday 12/1 ended in a 2-1 loss for the highlanders as scoring was hard to come by for both teams. It wasn't until the 3rd period where Exeter found its second goal and held onto the lead edging over Gunnery in a tight matchup as both teams are deep.

Scoring seemed to be no issue for the Highlanders on Sunday's matchup vs. New Hampton as Gunnery scored 6 times from 5 different scorers. Goals came from Washco (2), D'Agostino, Pellegrino, Rayhill, and Edwards as the highlanders played a full consistent 60 minutes at a high pace. Gunnery played fast and physical as they wore New Hampton down in all three zones. Mella was spectacular in net all weekend as he saw many shots in both games.

Gunnery finished the weekend 1-1 and improve their record to 2-1 as they prepare for Berkshire on the road on Wednesday 12/6 at 4:30 pm.

Founded in 1850 by abolitionist, educator, and outdoorsman Frederick Gunn, The Gunnery is a coeducational college preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 9 through 12/post-graduate. Dedicated teacher-mentor-coaches challenge students to reach their full potential in a home-like setting where character and citizenship are valued as much as intellect and achievement. Individualized attention and high expectations help young learners develop not only the skills and confidence they will need in college, but also the moral compass and love of learning that will serve them well in life. The school attracts ambitious, academically curious students who will both shine as unique individuals and thrive as contributing members of a deeply connected community. By the time they graduate, Gunnery students have become well rounded, grounded young adults with a sharpened sense of who they are and who they want to become.
