    Forty-three students at The Gunnery earned AP Scholar Awards in recognition of their outstanding college-level achievement on 2018 AP Exams. The College Board recognizes several levels of achievement based on students’ performance on the AP Exams, including AP® Scholar with Distinction, AP® Scholar with Honor, and AP® Scholar.

  • 9th Annual Play4theCure Fundraiser to Support Cancer Research

    The Gunnery Girls Varsity Field Hockey team will host its 9th annual Play4theCure game on Saturday, October 6 at 7 p.m. to raise funds for cancer research. Again this year, the game will be a scrimmage between two, co-ed, Gunnery teams, Red vs. White, and will be played at home under the lights. All proceeds will be donated to the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR).

    The Gunnery community welcomed new and returning students to campus at the start of September along with 10 new faculty members, who bring with them an impressive range of skills and experiences. From studying abroad in Spain, Nicaragua, South Africa and Russia, to serving on a nuclear-powered fast attack submarine and in the National Guard, to running the Boston Marathon, the Ragnar Relay Series and Tough Mudder obstacle races, they’re definitely up for a challenge!

Founded in 1850 by abolitionist, educator, and outdoorsman Frederick Gunn, The Gunnery is a coeducational college preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 9 through 12/post-graduate. Dedicated teacher-mentor-coaches challenge students to reach their full potential in a home-like setting where character and citizenship are valued as much as intellect and achievement. Individualized attention and high expectations help young learners develop not only the skills and confidence they will need in college, but also the moral compass and love of learning that will serve them well in life.
