Support

The Gunnery Parents Fund

The Parents Fund is part of The Gunnery’s annual giving program, which is fueled by donations from our community of current parents. The Parents Fund supports all aspects of The Gunnery experience, from extracurricular activities, campus renewal and faculty development to technology, the arts, and athletics. Gifts of all sizes have an immediate impact on every Gunnery student and faculty member.

Contributing to the Parents Fund is an essential and well-regarded tradition. The school’s strong history of parent support is demonstrated by the high participation rates in the parent community each year. Your participation in this upcoming school year – at any level – will make a difference, and will help our students to learn and thrive in the best environment possible.

Parent Leadership Giving

Each fall during Parents Weekend, the Head of School hosts a special recognition dinner to honor those families who provide their generous support for the Parents Fund at the leadership level of $1,000 or more. For the 2017-18 Parents Fund, 37 families made a gift at this important level.

Founded in 1850 by abolitionist, educator, and outdoorsman Frederick Gunn, The Gunnery is a coeducational college preparatory boarding and day school for students in grades 9 through 12/post-graduate. Dedicated teacher-mentor-coaches challenge students to reach their full potential in a home-like setting where character and citizenship are valued as much as intellect and achievement. Individualized attention and high expectations help young learners develop not only the skills and confidence they will need in college, but also the moral compass and love of learning that will serve them well in life. The school attracts ambitious, academically curious students who will both shine as unique individuals and thrive as contributing members of a deeply connected community. By the time they graduate, Gunnery students have become well rounded, grounded young adults with a sharpened sense of who they are and who they want to become.
